Looking for stainless steel crossflow muffler.

What options are there fo a stainless cross flow with a 3" in and 2 2.5" outs? The only one that I have been able to find is the Borla XS part number: 40474.

Is there anything else out there before I buy the Borla?

Thanks,

There are lots of options.

You can order a Flowmaster in stainless steel, spintech makes them, SLP, and magnaflow. I know there are other but that what come to mind right off the bat.

Re: Looking for stainless steel crossflow muffler.

Excellent!

I'm now hovering between the spintech and the magnaflow. More towards the magnaflow at this stage. What is the favourite between these 2 with people out there?

Magnaflow!!! Quiet when you are sneaking out late at night...and hell at anything above 3000rpms!! Im 100% happy with my system on my LS1. With long tubes and no cats its a little raspy...but I LOVE IT!

Re: Looking for stainless steel crossflow muffler.

I had the choice between the Spintech and the Magnaflow. The Spintech came with my Mufflex 3 1/2 inch cat back. The Spintech is heavy and not of the straight through design.

I purchased the 3 1/2" Magnaflow muffler. It was all I wanted my muffler to be. Quiet while cruising around. Of the straight through design for the most power. Like was said above when the pedal is to the metal it opens up.

Re: Looking for stainless steel crossflow muffler.

These work... This is through an ORY and long tubes. Motor is a built LS1...that is horrible need of a tune. Not exactly gonna sound the same as a TPI motor..but you get the idea.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=SenLu6531Bg

And a WOT for your listening enjoyment. Watch your headphone volume on this one...

http://youtube.com/watch?v=THMSMZjQrIw

And a vid from inside up to 70... and this wasnt WOT so it gets alittle louder. Im pretty sure I was windows down for this. And I also took out alot of sound deadner up under the dash/pedal area that created a lot more noise.

Justin

Im pretty sure LS1sounds.com has LT1 clips as well...which should sound more like a TPI compared to the LSx motors.

Re: Looking for stainless steel crossflow muffler.

Redcamaro,

Thanks for the link. The file works fine for me.

Ghetto,

Is that your car? It looks cool.

I have since ordered the Magnaflow. It worked out considerably cheaper than the Borla and sounds good from the clips I have heard.

Thanks eveyone.

RMK,
Yup thats my baby. She is laid up at the moment while I work out some bugs. Im hoping to have a full summer of driving pleasure with her. As well as possibly terrorizing some tracks if I get in on some rentals.
