Jegs $$$$
theres a long story for how i got them, but i will keep it short,
i order the headerman headers longtubes first, but they would not clear my lower control arms, so JEGS made me a deal since they didnt fit TWICE!!!!
i got them for $400.00 shipped, but retail from JEGS for $500.00 +shipping/handleing fee.

Longtubes
Man O Man they are a super tight fit, plus they install instructions are way the F&@* off, some many small changes it took forever,
(FOR ANYONE THAT IS GOING TO INSTALL THESE HEADERS PM ME FIRST)
also one thing Dougs or Jegs doesnt tell you is there is a slip joint of the rear passenger primary, it leaked, i had to send it back under warranty and they fixed it, a month later
but they are so nice, great quality, super thick flanges, both at the heads and at the collectors.

How tough were your long tubes to install? I got hooker super comp. long tubes on mine and they were suprisingly simple to do, i also put them in while dropping the motor in. Mine route out right inside the pinchweld so im running true duals right out the side. Looks good tho.

Header install
Well lets start off first with the passenger side
Dougs modeled there design around a normal 350/305 starter....(very tight) i installed a LT1 starter, which leads me to my next problem, the passenger front primary does clear the knock sensor.... had to move it to the other side(tons more room), and the reroute the wire to the knock sensor.
and then there is the brake lines. its too close the header was rubing the brake lines the run along the engines subframe, in had to reroute those too.
now the driver side was a heck of lot easier(yeah right), alls i had to do is loosen the engine from the engine frame and the jack it up until the trans it hit the trans tunnel, and pull the steering column.
this was not my first longtube install so i thought it was going to be simple wrong again.

I installed the headmans from underneath and it was pretty easy. I dont know why they were too tight on you? although i did trim the a-arm a tiny bit.
DId you do the Dougs dr side from underneath, and still have to move the steer column>?

They look pretty good, nice 1-3/4" tubes and 3" collectors, any problems with the plugs on these headers? Also how close to the ground do these things sit?
More pic's please if you have them!

Plugs and Ground clearence
I had to run the Accels short resistor type plugs $40.00 more bucks,
i had A/C delco rapid-fires in before, but they are way too long for these headers. when i put my new motor in 383 hehehe.... i will buy angle plugs so i can run all kinds of plugs.
and ground clearence is low with my custom Y-pipe, I will put a coke can under neath and take a few more pics so you guys and get a good look at "STOCK" ride height.
i can go over pretty high speed bumps though. but i have a super steep drive and she scrapes a little thats only time i scrape is im my driveway, if i see tall speed bumps i avoid them just incase.

thats a sweet setup you got there cam, i like the diversion valve you have there that has carbon deposits starting to buildup on the unibody
are those diversion valves easy to install? it'd be nice to have one but im lazy, is this thing for me or not? (referring to lazyness)

QTP
QTP makes this electric cutout, and i have thermal sheild there b/c right rear passenger sets there, and there is carpet there on the inside and i didnt want it to burn.
very easy to install it just bolts on the exhaust if you have a cutout made into the exhuast, and run the wires to a switch up front and open and close the cutout and ready to loud or quiet.

They look like they hang down pretty low compaired to my Lemons Headers. How far down past the bottom of the oil pan do the headers hang?

Did you have your Y pipe custom fabbed up at an exhaust shop or did you buy one from somewhere?

Will they fit a T5 is what i'm wondering...looks like ill be the first to try.
Hooker 2210s fit T5s...and these are similar headers so i hope to hell they fit. Im sick of clearancing every god damn thing on this car for "100% bolt-on" parts.

Re: DOUGS NEW LONGTUBES ---PICS---
ok i wil try to remember, i dont really get on here much anymore so sorry.
i am too busy building up my 2002 SS camaro
um, i had it custom fabbed up from my design.
also it cost $420.00
cats and "y" about 120.00 and another 300.00 for them to fab up the y-pipe
and Stevo, i dont really know for sure if they will clear the T5, you may have to call Dougs and/or jegs and ask a tech rep.. dont ask a sales rep they dont know much.
and mw66nova, um ??? mini starter i used the LT1 starter its about 1/2 the size of a regular 305/350 starter, and it sounds pretty cool too.

theres a long story for how i got them, but i will keep it short,
i order the headerman headers longtubes first, but they would not clear my lower control arms, so JEGS made me a deal since they didnt fit TWICE!!!!
i got them for $400.00 shipped, but retail from JEGS for $500.00 +shipping/handleing fee.

Re: Jegs $$$$
i had the lt1 starter, but through some unfortunate happenings, mine broke. i have a mini-starter at the house i'm going to put on this weekend, but i don't want to have to buy a new one just for headers.
you are right, the hedman longtubes do NOT clear the a-arm perch, the a-arm perch MUST be trimmed. i've put those headers on about 8 cars.

Re: Jegs $$$$
hey 91Greenbird, i dont think its a TBI issue its that they dont know how to bend the primarys. not enough R&D at Dougs headers.
hopefully they will tweak the design a little to fit better.
On my 2002 camaro i went with the 3 generation coated LT Pacesetters and it only took me 2 1/2 hours to install them, the fitment is so perfect. no issues, no grinding, no hammering, just slide them in from under neath and install the bolts and done. also they dont hang low like my Dougs headers,
my 2002 camaro is lowered and i can slide a coke can underneath the exhaust and still have a 1/2 of gap.

Re: Jegs $$$$
nice man.. thats awesome... ive got the mini starter and the 2210's Hooker so i should be in pretty good shape... im probably gonna either dump it right at the back tires or shoot it to the rear side of the car

Re: DOUGS NEW LONGTUBES ---PICS---
those headers are sweet but i went with a set of mid length ceramic coated headers that were meant for a 1975-1981 camaro and they were so easy to intall took me 1 hour to install them the passerger side was easy no problem at all the driver side was a pain i had to take a body hammer to them it two places on it but it didnt take that much oh and i also only paid a 160 bucks for my great deal for ceramic coated headers
