I am considering buying this exhaust system...

Summit sells a complete 3 inch catback exhaust system from flowmaster for only 239.95 minus a 10 dollar coupon I have.

the only problem with the set is that its single outlet only, which is really ok anyway seeing as how I am running a single outlet exhaust set up right now.

For those of you wanting to know its Flowmaster Force II Catback exhaust system. I don't mind the sound of flowmasters...I would've preferred the edelbrock system and I might actually still get that, but the edelbrock system is also 40 dollars more.

I am just wondering if anyone has this setup on their third gen and if you like them?

At this point I know that catback systems will give you essentially the same in hp numbers...I am not looking for big numbers here but I am really tempted to go with this system now that i found it.

What do you guys think? I am still gonna run a cutout on it.

Just need opinions is all....this is the part number FLO-17151

I have this on my GTA.
I love the sound.. just wish it had dual outlets and maybe a tad louder.
No rasp with a high-flo cat, had lots of mid-rpm rasp without a cat.
Pretty quiet on the highway.

do you know what kind of muffler the force II comes with? Os ot a f;pw,aster 40 or flowmaster 80?

I am really just buying it because of the 3 inch piping. I fmy exhaust shop permits, I will switch out my catalytic converter with the bullet muffler so it will save me some time before I buy a high flow cat.

But then again the magnaflow 3 inch converter sell fors about 60 bucks online....

EDIT: When it all comes down to it, its basically gonna either be the flowmaster force II catback, the Hooker Exhaust, or the Edelbrock.

I have heard nothing but good things about the Edelbrocks and Hookers....I was just searching the archives and found some mixed reviews on the catback I am considering saying it sounds too hollow and cheap.

The bullet too loud for ya?

If I HAD to run a flowmaster, I'd pick the flowmaster 40 single chambered. It's the best sounding of them all imo.

Bullet's just fine really, I am just ditching it in favor of getting a real catback exhaust system.

After some consideration though I might go with edelbrock's system instead of flowmaster. I am not really a fan of flowmaster, they can do what they can do, but for the money there is obviously better choices.

I am just gonna go ahead and narrow it back down to the original two choices and that was the Edelbrock or the Hookers. I am wondering if I can replace my stock cat with the bullet....I doubt the exhaust shop would do that, I am really just looking for sound.

I heard the flowmaster force II or whatever its called was really low and quiet (although I have a cutout so it should still be somewhat loud)

I heard edelbrocks were good...so I might just go with them come tomorrow....

The FORCE II is a 30 series muffler.
I will try to get a soundclip for you tonight.

nah man don't worry about it. I have decided on the edelbrocks for now.

Plus it would be a waste of time for you to go out of your way to get me a sound clip seeing as how the sound on my computer is no longer working.

I do have one question though. I heard that some people had some difficulties when installing the edelbrock catback on their cars. Something about them sitting too low or not fitting correctly. I don't know how much I can expect to pay to get the catback welded on (I suspect another 150-200 dollars)

The exhaust shop in town does a phenomenal job for a good price.

A word to the wise though, don't ever take your car to have a muffler welded on by midas. They suck...I can't fully enjoy my sound because of that stupid exhaust hanger they put on the car to hold the tail pipe.

Let me know how the edelbrock sounds.
I'm kicking myself in the *** for getting a single outlet setup.

BTW, it probably wont sound like the edelbrock sounds clips you've heard.
They recently changed their muffler from the RPM Series muffler to the SDT(Sound Deflection Technology) muffler which is chambered and sounds more like a flowmaster. I believe all the cat backs summit has are the SDT mufflers even though they are listed with the RPM Series muffler.

the least I would say is 150 bucks but I doubt it...I am going from single back to duals...

I am confused

EDIT: Hmm...whats the difference between the RPM series and the SDT? I hope I'll still like the sound, which I am sure I will. I like Edelbrock products, can't go wrong with em' on certain things.

The RPM Series is pretty much a straigh-through style muffler.

That sucks....do you think i will notice a big loss? I like straight flow designs...

Why would Edelbrock go ahead and do something like that?

Well no matter, I hope I can get the RPM still, but if not I am sure the SDT is just as good, hopefully better.

There's always Hooker though

its actually for sale $250 im in lindenhurst, ny 11757.

can't really ship it though

if its 3 inch all around I may take you up on that offer. However I am all the way in AZ, so shipping is a must...I'd be more then glad to pay for the shipping costs...

What condition is the system in all around?

I just bought a new hooker catback, it sounds great, nice and deep, best thing I have bought for the car. Inside its nice and quiet but outside it sounds powerful, even on a 305.
