The title puts it best, I want the best flowing muffler that's also so loud it sounds like the world is coming to an end. Right now I have shortie headers into a 3 inch pipe, no cat and an 80 series flowmaster. My engine is a worked over 355, you can see the details in my sig.

The sound of the flowmaster is fine with me, if anything it's too quiet. But after reading this board it seems to me that the flowmaster may not be the best flowing of the bunch. Is there anyone that knows of a muffler or system that I might like.

The car is NOT a daily driver so I'm not worried about the noise getting old on a long trip or something. The types of long trips this car sees is 60 mile highway trips to the track or an auto-X and fun weekend play driving.

As a side note I love when my exhaust is so loud it makes people talking on their cell phones roll up their windows.

why dont you look into the single chamber 40 series flowmaster my buddy has them on his truck its stock and its pretty loud as well that want im goin to get this month.

Any exhaust that "sounds like the world is coming to an end" is not going to have a muffler. If it does, i'm sure it's going to be very small. The SLP loudmouth or GMMG sounds like it's right up your alley.

I've seen the term "GMMG" on a number of posts and to be honest I've never searched for the meaning of the term. What does "GMMG" stand for if I may be so bold as to ask.

My brother's Big Block Chevelle and my Truck both have 40 series mufflers but I again I wonder about the flow numbers from the Flowmasters, I do like the way the Chevelle sounds. SLP sounds interesting, I'll have to look for those. I wish I could go without mufflers but my guess is I would make quick friends with the police around here.

owner of an slp loudmouth here. ive got the LM and no cat and its crazy loud on my lil 305. im kinda startin to think its almost too loud, something i never thought id say. but i do love this exhaust and i will never get rid of it. ill try to get ya a sound clip.

don't bother with the loudmouth, it's a WAY overpriced piece of crap.. basically a straight pipe. That's it. A $100 pipe.

Get a dynomax bullet, it sounds like the *********in' apocalypse

Hit the "Hear her" in my sig and you can listen to an LT1, no cats, stock manifolds and a dynomax bullet.

The Borla system ought to do it. Install it and leave the plate out of the right side. Only the left side goes through the muffer.

The duals on this system come from a single cat and split before the muffler. Then, if ever it is too loud, just put one of the plates in the right side to quieten it down.

I read everyone's replys and it seems I have some research to do, of all of those options which would you say flows the best. Are there flow charts anywhere on the net.

As a side note I have thought about putting a cutout on the car after the headers but I've heard that the elec. cutouts start to leak after just a little bit of use. I don't want to have a block off plate I have to crawl under the car to take off, we have that on the Chevelle and it's kind-of a pain, mostly when the car is hot.

The LM or the bullet would flow the best, they're straight through resonators. The bullet is much cheaper and sounds better though, imo

And e-cutout just after the headers is also a good possibility. This will allow you to adjust the tuned length of your exhaust for either the street or the strip with the flip of a switch. If you're going to go this route, check out Quicktime Performance's e-cutout. It's a good piece and doesn't leak.

i have had good luck with my magnaflow setup.heddman headers and y pipe with a cat delet and 3 in cat back.to 3 1/2 dual tips..nice rumble at idle but my wife says she can hear me miles away and always knows when i comin home lol its especially loud when your on the throttle...just my 2 cents.

ive heard magnaflow is pretty loud... Have no personal experience with it though. I'm a fan of the low, deep, somewhat quiet rumble (hooker).

I have a mccord powerplate and it's been a year without leaking. There is also a new one on Summit but I dont know anyhting about it.

i have 2 louds mouth resonators, the LM orig and the LM 2, the lm is just a pipe in the shape of a resonator its completely hallow, i have pics if interested.

the LM2 has the resonator look on the inside almost that of a glass pack

The loudest would be a bullet muffler. considering the design, it ould most likely flow the best as well. I have 2 round Ultra Flows, which are pretty much the same as a bullet, but with more sound dampening filler in them, and there still pretty fricken loud.
