That clip is only 2 seconds long?! IS there any way you can get a clip thats longer (10-40 seconds)?

Also, what needs to be done to have the GMMG fit a thirdgen? Does it bolt right up or is there some modification that needs to be done. I'm seriously considering purchasing this exhaust system in the spring, so these are some htings id like to know.

The clip is 12 seconds long. I also took one that is 35 seconds long, but the sound is even worst on it...

The sound might get a little choppy, but I can still get a feel for what it sounds like. Thank you for posting the clip, it is much appreciated.

I dont know, everytime i click on that link it brings up WMP and the clip only lasts 2 seconds...even says that its 2 seconds..

But could you answer my question about what modifications need to be done for it to fit on a third gen?

Try right clicking and hitting "save target as".

I am not completely sure what the shop did to install the system. AFAIK the I-pipe does have to be cut for the system to fit.

EDIT: I will post the other 30 sec. video if I can get it hosted somewhere. It is too big for my webspace.

The concern that I have is the case of it being TOO loud. My car is a daily driver. I have a 383 c.i. engine with SLP headers and I am not running a catalytic converter. I don't want my neighbors to complain when I come rolling in at 3:00 am. Does it give you just a normal 'muscle' sound during idle conditions and slow neighborhood driving? Or is it 'race car' from the moment you crank it till you shut it off?

I cannot answer your question with certainty, but i've heard pretty much all the sound clips of GMMG on LT1's and LS1's and it sounds pretty deep and low during low RPM driving. I don't know how it would sound with SLP headers and no cat, but i'm pretty sure you could find a soundclip with a similar setup on www.ls1sounds.com . Check it out.

I'm running a similiar setup with a muffler similiar to summits. Although it doesn't sound as good as that lt1 clip, it is VERY close. I wish I had some means to record a clip

Any shop with decent fab abilities can make that system fit for you. The part that sucks is they probably won't use the whole int. pipe. They may have to use some of yours (or some of the 3" pipe for the 3rd gen) and the rear section of your kitwith some left over. Shouldn't be to tough though. If you want to drive to Windsor Ontario Canada (south Detroit) I'll fit it up there nicely for you!! Yes you can make your own system using the Summit mufflers. It will sound almost identical to the GMMG system.

I am still having trouble deciding whether or not to invest in the GMMG system. I have listened to a lot of the clips. I agree that that the sound is awesome. However, I can not tell if the volume would just be too loud for a daily driver. It would seriously suck ***** to drop that kind of money just to be tired of dealing with the noise after a couple of month's worth of driving back and forth to work. Does anyone have any new comments to make about it?

Sooner or later you gotta take the plunge, one way or the other. If its what you really want then go for it, or you will forever second guess yourself. If its to loud there are other areas closer to your headers that you can add another "sound deadener" ie Hi flo cat, resonator, muffler just to kill a little more of the sound. You could also add an "x" or "h" pipe up front to reduce some of the tone. You know you want it, quit sittin on the fence. Happy holidays to all.

Wow, that sounds damn nice, i am looking into it myself since right now i have stock mans and y pipe with a catco cat 3" and no muffler and i'm putting headers and a y pipe on it, i'm not worried too much about volume as i like loud and dont drive it much but i need some backpressure to keep the ses light off, sounds bitching thouhg

It doesn't drone in car (pretty amazing) and at idle just adds a deep tone to the exhaust, not an excessive amount of volume. With a load, it's very deep and powerful, and over 2500 you can hear the car coming from every direction. At WOT forget it, the car sounds like the gates of hell just opened.

At night when the city is quiet, you can hear a car with a GMMG at wide open throttle for a mile or two, literally. But volume isn't all these things are about, the tone and muscle car sound is what makes this thing so awesome.

If I can take a video in the next few days I'll try to host it somewhere... Of course that's if you guys don't mind hearing it on a LT1.
Flowmaster makes dozens of different sizes and sound ranges for our cars. Some will drone, some will not. Their website tells you which might and which ones won't drone. Flows catbacks are too expensive at 330-350 when you can pick your muffler and buy a 3 inch intermediate pipe and have custom tailpipes made to exit where you want them not where some kit wants you to put the tailpipes. Maybe these are some sort of stainless steel alloy mixture, none of the aftermarket so called stainless cat backs will last as long as say the factory pieces. (Now I am not saying keep factory or get factory, just for comparison purposes as far as longevity). I am sure it sounds nice, but that is all in the EAR of the beholder. For that kind of dough I will get the Flow
or an IMCO (flowmaster copy for half the price) , a 70-100 intermediate pipe and in my case keep the factory tailpipes. You could have some made cheap. Maybe a 200 exhaust total.
I am not ripping this brand, don't know that much about it but lord that is extremely high, higher than an overpriced Borla catback and that is really saying something.

I've revisited this thread because I have a new video clip of the GMMG to share... growling the run from 0-100.
Check out the nice little wiggle of the tail on the 1-2 shift. Look at her go!
