450hp sbc , i need help with exhaust .
Well ive never looked for any exhaust for my ta since i knew i wasnt keeping the stock 305 tpi . So now i know whats gonna happen and i need to do an exhaust . I want something really loud. Right now with the 305 i have manifolds and straight pipes back to my tips . What i want to know is what is the best and biggest shorty coated hedders. I dont have air tubes or need cats or anything . So whats the best to go with . And should i go with a 3 inch exhaust with just 1 chambered muffler, like the ones that came on 69 camaros, will that be loud. And whats some good hedders.

if you want a catback, i'd look into mufflex...3.5" or 4", then ask them for the magnaflow muffler instead of the flowmaster or spintech...
duals dumped underneath like mine are loud enough, i can vouch for that....they just scream like none other when you get on it..
when i ride next to my friends (01 WS6 trans am, 00 z28), i totally drown them out....they both got aftermarket exhausts, loudmouth on the TA, and hooker/LT headers on the Z....and my car puts those to shame when it comes to exhaust...

do you want long tubes or shorty's?
shorty's - find some 1 3/4" primaries, 3" collector, and get them jet hotted
Long Tubes - headmans are nice, hookers are real nice but they hang low...
well if your exhaust guy is gonna make something for you, i hope its all mandrel bent, cuz otherwise if your gonna have it exit in the back, and its all crush bent pipe, its gonna flow like sh*t, and you mines well just stick with stock exhaust....what you need is 3.5" single pipe, and the y pipe needs to 2.5" into 3.5"...

you think ill be fine with a 3.5 inch exhaust and lowered like it is , Im also gonna have a bg super t 10 4 speed and the spohn crossmember . And i need short tubes , the car is lowered and i dont need the hassle of long tubes, unless people think the car can do it with long tubes. Its got sportlines in it.

well i got sportlines, stock 16" tires, and i have duals dumped underneath....i don't scrape the headers, i just scrape the part that goes under the tranny crossmember once in a while if i'm not paying attention....the heamans tuck up real nice, and its real hard to scrape those, the hookers on the other hand, people have a lot of problems with them...
i think you'll be fine with a 3.5" in factory location...
