My heddman headers are brown after 100 miles! Would painting them with hi-temp paint work? I don't have time/money to have them jetcoated.

Lasted a hundred miles, eh? Wow!
Yes, high temp paint will last longer if you properly prep them and cure the paint.

Yeah, first startup and I thought I had a fire under my hood from the awful smoke and smell. What temp paint should I use?

I painted and prepped my Hedmans with real header paint... theres a few little spots where the paint has little cracks in it, but its holding up pretty well do far. I've got about 1000mi on it by now.

Spend out $80 bucks and you can do em in a Hi temp ceramic black that you dont have to bake like I do ceramic.
just get ALL the paint off em now. prep em good and spray em. They will cure when you fire the car up.
Its good to temps just like the sterling ceramic I do.
e-mail me if your interested in a bottle

The paint that comes on the headers when you get them is just for shipping. You need to take that crap off even before putting them in the car and spray them down with high temp paint or whatever high temp coating you prefer.
