Like everyone said, most likely not. But if you happen to have a rich tune, with no cat, and a straight through muffler, there is a slight chance once in a while I guess.

my carb setup is runnin rich... during shifts or hard decel it spits out flames from the cutout (were cat used to be) but i don't think it's ever done that through the muffler...

One of my buddy's had two bombs on his truck and they both would shoot flames out of them preaty long . but he had both bolted right on the header's.

Unless your running open headers with way too little timing your not going to see flames. If the motors running right, all the flames should be in the cylinders where they belong.

Like mentioned earlier, if you're spitting flames, I'd check the fuel map for a RICH condition. If the fuel curve's close, you won't see flames......unless you're running nitro methane.

it probably will not shoot flames out of the pipe. If you have not cat and a straight through pipe it may shoot a flame, especially if you have it running really rich.

To get flames you should put a hole in each exhaust pipe and put a spark plug in each hole, then wire it to a switch somewhere on the dash.

Car: one with wheels

So in essence you want to put a resonator in place of the cat. Never a good idea flow wise. No doubt - it won't shoot flames.
