flowtech headers 11116FLT

Has anyone used the headers? They claim they will bolt up to the stock y-pipe... Are they any improvement over the stock exhuast manifolds?

I bought some long tubes, from flowtech... Do a google search on these headers, cause when i got mine, i heard that they were cheap "Good" Not the best but good headers, well after i got them put them in i read the papper, and it says that they are not respoible for and mods that you may have to make, well i got to make a Mod. somehow, but i am not sure on your case.. People have had the finish come off, if you do a google search on product satisfactory like i did, you can read what people thought about the item..

All ports are precisely fitted and finished with sturdy, leak-proof O-ringed port seals, and all FlowTech headers include all mounting hardware including bolts, nuts and premium gaskets.

These are good headers! You should be all set, and you will notice a diffrence even if you are hooking to the original setup, well this was the way i was told, how can you maintain speed on a highway with people flying at you at diffrent directions? you cant its quite hard.. thats just what happen in a stock manifold everything just jams together, but with headers everything just glides through the pipe and at the end everything is headed in the same direction and not getting jammed up.. well it may be hard to understand what i just said but i had diagrams...... sorry if i confused you but, i hope this helps...

Yes the theory makes since to me. With headers the exhuast gas pusles do not collade, because the primary tubes are tuned to length....to eliminate the collisions.

I think I am going to get these, unless I hear something.

hahahaha! Fitment ease? Not hardly. I had to cut a notch out of the bellhousing where the dust shield goes to get them in, and then they sat against the subframe on the passengers side and tried to shake my car apart. Then, when I went to have exhaust put on the car, the collector flanges sat so low, the guy couldn't even back the car out of the garage without risking that he'd rip the exhaust clean out. Go with Hooker or Hedman. If you really want a good set , get them from Doug's Headers in L.A.
This is the guy that Super Chevy and Camaro Performers usually use when they're bulding up or modifying cars for their articles. Hell, use some of that aluminum foil style dryer duct instead of Flowtechs. Prolly work better.
