Electric cut out, Leaking yet?

Tried seaching, but im getting alot of those pages not found thing, so i ask,

People with the electric cut outs, are you having sealing issues with them, i see they have been around sence atleast 03, im getting ready to plan out my new exhaust, and i was wanting to install an electric cut out, but i dont want it seeping, and hissing while its supost to be closed, the QTP and McCord sites didnt have any specifics on the sealing part of them.

Also its going on a carbed 350, with LT headers, probly will have cut out right after Y pipe, if i get it tuned to run with it closed, will i be in danger of leaning it out too much when i open it up? Or should i tune a little rich before hand?

I got mine in one of the last group purchases from McCord. It's the PowerPlate II, or at least I think it is. Mine hasn't started leaking yet. And as far as Lean or Rich, I haven't noticed any change on my A/F Ratio gauge when it's open. I could be wrong, but I can't see a cut out effecting air/fuel mixture.

The reason i bring up the leaning issues, is that when you change your exhaust your lessoning backpressure. Generaly when a burned mixture is exiting the cylender, it is still overlaped with the fresh mixture, ive read before that the old is usually passed by the carb by kind of a back flow, having more fuel added.

Or, not all the exhaust gets out with restictive exhaust, holding in some unburned fuel, witch lets say you get that out, and all fresh comes back in it changes the AF ratio, or so ive read.

I maybe going nuts here, but i know you have to tune your motor with just a header swap, if you want the most out of it, usually adding fuel to the now lean mixture.

You maynot be noticeing anything becuase you have an EFI system with an O2 that can correct for some of the leaning.

I haven't had any problems with sealing. And I didnt even use RTV to seal it to the cutout, I just used a gasket.

And I dont have an a/f guage yet, so I dont know about my mixture. I think it's leaning out though.

then he's not using a McCord Power Plate. It's impossible for it to rust because it is made out of Air Craft Aluminum....and all of us know that Aluminum Can Not Rust, not sure what brand he's using....must be junk.

If the plate is welded then you have the Power Plate II. I have the same thing but have yet to install it. Still working on the engine.
