What's the quietest 4 inch muffler?

Hey guys, fixing to go 4 inch, I would like to get the car as quiet as possible with my
setup. I'm not wanting to be whisper quiet, but it's driving me nuts right now. Here's my setup, let me know what muffler you guys would use. Thanks!

92 B4C minirammed 383, hotcam, AFR 190's, 28lb. injectors, 11.1 comp., Hooker 1-3/4 Lt's, Mufflex Y pipe to corsa 3 inch, TKO 5 speed, and Moser 12 bolt with 3:73's.

hmm, i tend to think dynomax makes quieter mufflers then the rest of the companys yet with uncomprimised flow. they sell some pretty quality welded ultra flow series muffler, they just might have a 4" in/out.

I think the two terms "quiet" & "4 in exhaust/muffler" don't go hand in hand lol!

EEEEKK! I don't think your going to find "quiet" 4 inch muffler. Especially with your setup. But, between the Spintech and Flowmaster, from what I've heard, the flowmaster is the qieter of the 2. Now as for other manufacturers, I'm not sure cuase it wasn't an option at the time I did mine.

I've had both the Spintech and Flowmaster in my 4" Mufflex setup. The Spintech sounds like a little kitten compared to the Flowmaster!

Ya, I realize it's not going to be like stock with a 11.1 383, but I'd like to be able to get on it a little, without drawing everyone's attention within a 1 mile radius! Does anyone make a 4inch in to dual 3 inch out? Might be louder, I don't know. Thanks for your input!

Mufflex does, with Spintech or Flowmaster, but prepare your wallet

Yeah, I think if you check the back ads in some Chevy magazines they have a pic & advertisement for the 4in exhaust.

My car can be a little obnoxious at times, so this is what I did.
I put on some simple turn down style tips and it actually made the car quieter by directing the sound down towards the ground.

the 4" mufflex system with the spintech muffler isn't that loud a member has one on his built 383 running about 450hp and when your just tooling around its just right but when you get on it, it screams

i dont think this guys intentions were to quiet his car down to the volume of a stock third gen. hes simply looking for a quieter muffler then he has now and there is definitly no reason why he cant get one, they are out there.

Put a stock muffler back on and if possible use 2" pipeing.

You wouldnt want to do what i did.. No muffler (it's in my backyard) and a cat that's slowly falling apart. Hehe it's getting louder every day.

But on the other note, spintech is your best bet from what ive heard.

I second that -- Denny at Mufflex also says that the Spintech makes the same power and is built better. I was just there about a month ago. I have the 4" Flowmaster and it does get loud at certain rpm, but it does let the overlap on my roller cam sound like an offshore powerboat. Wouldn't want it for a daily driver -- Go Spintech. --- J383
