Hedman 68470 and new y-pipe

I found some new info out today from calling Hedman support. This is new info to me so I thought I'd share it.

For those of you that have or are looking at the 68470s and have noticed that they changed the design to a ball-flange instead of the standard flange, rendering the 'bolt-on' y-pipe useless without modification...there is now a solution. Hedman apparently now offers a new y-pipe that actually does bolt on to the headers, complete with ball-flange. It's actually the exact same as the old part number (which is still offered but good luck finding an old set of the 68470s to match it, trust me...I've looked...and looked) except for now-matching flanges. Cool eh? 'Bout time Hedman got their heads outta their butts and fixed that. I'm still at a loss since I have a good 'old style' y-pipe in good shape but my 'old style' 68470s are bent badly (I just wanted an old set of 68470s to replace them but no it couldn't be that easy). So now I gotta buy a complete new set of headers and y-pipe...oh well, at least they aren't too bad on pricing...

Part number: Price:
68470 Headers $125
17478 Y-pipe $ 99

Well that's good news. I've got a set of brand new 68470's sitting here waiting to replace the old ones on the car that I couldn't use because I couldn't get another 'old' y-pipe.
BTW, the part number for the y-pipe should be 17470.

No, that part number is correct. 17470 is the old y-pipe with a standard flange, 17478 is the updated y-pipe supporting ball-flange collectors. Straight from the Hedman rep. himself, and you can see also by going to Jegs.com:

I misread that; thought you meant they listed it under the same part number like they did when they 'upgraded' the old piece.

Nah, and it's a good thing they didn't because that caused a lot of confusion and problems for some people, I think (speaking from personal experience). I'm just glad they got it worked out now.
