SLP Headers rub against frame
Hey everyone, I put in my SLP headers a while ago, and i noticed that it was close to the frame but now that i look at it, it is right up against it. Also i noticed it was rubbing against my A-Arm bracket to. so i loosend the tranny mount and moved the tranny alittle bit so now the headers are not hitting the A arm but its still hitting the frame. i hope that made sense. The part that is hitting is the big bracket that connects the headers to the y-pipe. i was thinking about cutting the bracket alittle bit but im kind of scared to do that. Does anybody have an idea? i was thinking about moving the engine mounts, and tranny mounts. but im not sure.

well, new engine mounts would definitely help... but aside from that, what is hitting the frame? are you talking about the collector flange? if so, you should be able to rotate it to whatever position you need in order for it not to hit on anything. maybe i'm not sure what you're talking about, but that's my two cents on it. hopefully you can do that, though.

i just put my headers on, haven't put anything else on yet cuz i'm waiting on my trans, but with new mounts, so far all i had rubbing was the water line on the pass side frame, nothing else.

yeah its the collector flange thats hitting the frame, i can rotate it but anywhere it goes it hits something. like the a-arm or the frame. I guess i will just get some new motor mounts because i need those anyways. thanks.

get you the energy suspension poly mounts. the mount bolts are hard to get to (the ones that hold the mount to the x-member), and you will have to drill out the rivet that holds the shells together. other than that, they're worth the effort, IMO.
