Pros and Cons of a Cutout
Simply stated, what are the pros and cons of an exhaust cutout before th cat (disregarding emmisions)... all opinions would help. Thanks.

Plenty of noise:- Can be a pro or a con depending on your perspective.
Con:- Illegal in some States I believe. Plenty of stories around with people have slight sealing/leaking problems with them.
If you get one, I'd advise you to get an electronically controlled one, that is unless you are actually only going to use it on the strip.
You'll find more than enough information on this topic if you do a quick search on this forum.

Incase this is not clear
The cutout needs to be uncapped manually
The electric butterfly valve(or electric cutout) bolts onto the cutout.
Pro:More power, when open, when at the track I gained 2 tenths from 16.2 to 15.98. That was with a hooker catback and a catco 3 inch cat, easy open headers
Cons:another chance for an exhaust leak, can't get around that one, having an exhaust creates that problem
Authority
ticket for being to loud
possibly illegal

"What'd you say...Cletus???"
"Huh??"
"Speak up dammit, I can't hear you"
"Huh?"
"I see your lips moving, but all I hear is......Hang on I can't hear anything anymore.....This could come in handy later on when Martha tells me to get my lazy beer drinking tail off the couch and take out the damn garbage."
Seriously, tho, I think everybody else pretty much covered it.

there freakin awesome
so far, I've never had any cops stop me, but they sure do look. I have the McCord Power Plate and it's the only way to go IMO. Sounds like a NASCAR while it's open
