I love my edelbrocks....if you look at it this way....just about ANY brand of headers is better then the stock manifolds. I bought mine un-coated...and sent them to JET HOT for a nice coating...they look great, sound great, and perform great to me. Sure, SLP's are very nice headers...with bigger primarys.....you'll have to pay about 2 times more...and a friend of mine had them on his 91 Z28 1LE...and the steering shaft hit drivers side primary tube...plus you have to buy an installation kit....

i just installed some hedman 1 5/8 shorties on my car and converted from dual cat to a single 3 inch cat. it will be connected to my existing cutout and 3 inch bassani catback. with the y pipe open it sounds AWESOME.
i say switch to single cat and save a butt load of money. i did and got a cat off ebay for about 30 or 40 bucks.
and BTW, 1 3/4 is bigger than 1 5/8.

I love my edelbrocks. I just bought mine ceramic coated in May 04'. The only reason I'm taking them out of my car (which breaths alright behind my 9lb P1SC 350) is that I'm building a 14lb boosted 383 with true duals. 1-5/8 will do fine and like someone said before they're better than stock iron. Are they optimum for any decent engine mod, probably not but they work for the quality and money. You can check my ride under user rides "AC"
