open header valve?
ok so i was lookin at a hot rod magazine and i saw this cool deuce! it had a nice exhaust and all but it had a valve that could be opened to let the exhaust out kinda like straightpipes but... not! I know its illegal and all so dont burn me but do you guys think that it would be a good idea to weld in like a valve or gate that i can take off before i do a little racin? that would twice as better than getting a free flowing exhaust!!!!!!

Try a few searches for "cut out". That is what they used. They are good for the track and the rare occasions when intimidation is in order. It is pointless to have one if your car never sees the track.
