Cherry Bomb Oval Turbo

I asked last fall, nobody responded.

Has anyone seen or used these mufflers? They say "large internal flow tube", but I'm not sure what they think that is. I'm looking at the 3" in/out version. ( http://www.jcwhitney.com/webapp/wcs/...X&appId=533769 ignore the picture.)

I got burned by Summit & their "turbo" muffler. Even though the connection was a nice 3", the interal tubed necked down to about 2" before the perferations started. Summit also has a welded muffler that says "large internal flow tube" (they don't say that about their Turbo muffler), but it costs more than these Cherry Bombs.

I don't know that what i have is the same, but i would assume it is, anywho i have the Cherry Bomb Turbo II mufflers, mine are 2 1/2 inlet/outlet and the internal baffles seem to be the same size as the inlet/outlet pipes. hope that helps

Brand name.

Like Chevy.

Or Flowmaster.

"Turbo II" is the model.

Like Camaro.

Or American Thunder.

Cherry bombs :nono:

Dynomax

You, of all people, considering Cherry bombs is like Richard Simmons considering playing rugby.

Seriously... why Cherry bombs?

Cherry Bomb glass packs, I'd agree with you. I've seen Pacesetter turbo mufflers that out-flow them.

Why not Dynomax? $$$'s.

For what I'm doing, it would take $$$'s x 2.

Cherry Bomb Turbo II's would be (Dynomax/3) x 2.

Since the 3" inlet from the collectors ends up in 2-1/2" tailpipes, a little less than " " will probably do.

Summit 3" Turbos notwithstanding...

To expound further on my goals, I'm looking for something that flows better than corked Warlocks for muffler-required classes at the strip, but is quieter than Dynomax Bullets driving to the strip. Also, something I don't dink with (like the Warlocks) so my database is consistent for both open-exhaust allowed classes (which I'll go ahead and run with the mufflers), and muffler-required classes.

Without breaking the piggybank.

I didn't say go with bullets. The Ultrflows would do ya' good.

If money is a problem, then look at the Moroso spiral flow ones. A guy at NastyZ28.com is running them and says they're quiet and flow great (has dyno numbers to prove it.)

Gimme some time and I'll probably be able to find it for ya'.

I'm pulling the Bullets for this coming season. Ran as good as the Warlocks uncorked (through the tailpipes no less). If you recall that 'Stang dyno link from a couple of weeks ago, uncorked Warlocks made more power than open headers, but corked were the lowest power muffler they tested. That speaks well of Bullets, at least for racing use - driving home through the neighborhood at midnight after Friday evening racing, it's only a matter of time before some "neighbor" has the County Mounties waiting for me.

I've seen the Spirals, they're also called "racing mufflers" like the Bullets, they're 8" round (space problem), and cost more than Summit's welded turbos (with the "large flow tubes") that in retrospect I should have gotten instead of the "regular" turbos.

Oh well, "racing" and "cheap" mix like "oil" and "water"...
