hedman shortys without y-pipe?

I have searched read a lot on these forums about headers and installing them. Some have been lucky others not so. The shop i have had do a lot work on my car says 6 hrs they would charge me so figured would give try myself this weekend. Is there a way to install them without a y-pipe? I have 85 berlinetta 305 v8 looked under it one pipe meets up with both sides of exhaust manifold. It really looks like it will just bolt right up without a y-pipe.. Any issues in not using a y-pipe? Im assuming its dual exhaust two tail pipes also coming out muffler. And the air tubes coming from manifolds do those get left out or installed on headers? Thanks in advance

The headers will not bolt up to your stock y-pipe. You need a y-pipe or go true dual. The air tubes remain if you need them for emessions or they can be removed if you don't want them there and want to remove your smog pump.
