Opinions on Dynomax Race Bullets?
Any good? Sound good or bad?
I think the baffles are starting to break up in my 80 series flowmaster and the fact I really don't like the sound anyway, I wanna change to something else.

Any good?
Yes, very free flowing.
Sound good or bad?
Yes. Good & loud, bad for street. Might be okay in series with a cat & within a full exhaust system, but they're not really street mufflers.

yeah LOUD LOUD LOUD, bullets are only slightly quieter than no exhaust. They do help though. when my y-pipe was raw, I slipped one of my 3" 12" long versions, and it did quiet it down slightly, it mostly gets rid of that fat sound, and makes it less fat, my guess is each muffler deadens the soud by about 3-5 dbs. They flow great though. And on my dads 68 gto, off the longtube headers and dumping under the car, they sound awesome with the cam, givesit that prostock dragster sound, and everyone noticed us, and felt us within 30 ft, lol. When we left with the car one day, we got about a half mile, and my mom said she still heard us over the hill by my house, they are great for the money, and have a great sound.

They don't do anything about that loud cracking part of the sound under power.

I actually ran a single bullet on my camaro when it was naturally asperated after Longtubes and 3" Y pipe.
It really sounded nice - Kind of a Nascar high pitch at WOT. I think it depends alot on your setup though, I had tried it on my stock chevy truck after cat and it was unlivable.
Alot of LS1 guys use them before removing the cats, Kinda strange my Camaro had no cats and very free flowing exhaust system but was not that loud... Maybe because I had it on the intermediate pipe...

Still loud as hell and free flowing, but a much smoother sound.

yeah ground clearance would be less, thats the other nice thing about bullets, a 3" muffler is only 4" in diameter, making the placement of it farely easy, and it cuts down on weight slightly.

It really depends on many things, Cam/heads/compression/ect. another major factor is tailpipe length .if any.
It seems the more tailpipe the quieter - also tailpipe angle has a a factor, if the sound deflects off ground or toward each other.

Magnaflow has mufflers like the Dynomax bullets that are not as loud.A friend of mine had them on his mustang and they had a rumble at idle and sounded real nice at WOT.Im going to use the 14" ones this spring when I do duals. http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/universal/round.htm
