Can someone help me ID this flowmaster muffler?

I belive it's a Flowmaster 80 series (4 inch). Can someone verify this by looking at the shape of the spot welds? Thanks!

Its not a 80 series, they have dual outlets on opposing sides, that is at least a 3 inch in/out looks to be a 40 series delta flow.

Well it's for sure a 4" muffler. Hmm 40 series delta flow..

If it helps, I'm pretty sure this muffler came on a mufflex 4" system.

All i can find, is that it says flowmaster race series muffler, thats there delta force, not delta flow, i have a 40 delta force on my car, 3" i like the way it sounds, kinda mellow, till ya give it some throttle. Ill try to get a sound clip of it this week sometime.

Ya, I had it on my car - way too quiet and wimpy for me. I was just wanting to know what it is so I can sell it and also so I can establish a baseline of what is "too quiet" on the flowmaster sound charts.

What you gonna replace it with?

I have Hooker LTs flowing into Mufflex 3.5" with the Spintech 3.5" in dual 3" out. Its pretty mellow at idle but darn nasty under WOT.

From my experience it seems that the bigger you go with singe pipe exhaust systems the quiter they get.

I was never a Blowmaster fan.

Well, I really don't know what I'm going to replace it with. I really like the sound of the 40 series, but people tend to think that flowmasters bottleneck the flow. Any recommendations, omin?

Kinda hard to pick a muffler. Lots of factors to consider.

Chambered mufflers sound the best and some flow damn good, Spintech for example.

Staight through designs flow the best but in my opinion sound like ***, they remind me an awfull lot of the fart cans hanging off alot of the ricce buckets out there.

Check out some of the Spintech race stuff for max flow, they sound real nasty as well, I have never heard anyone badmouth them, I like mine alot.

Just ran out and checked my Mufflex. The welds are in the same location as mine, so I would say it's the Flowmaster that is included with the Mufflex catback.

It's not an 80 series muffler. It should be a 30 series race muffler... mine is.

Awesome, thanks Marc! Do you know anything about this 30 series muffler? "Race Series"...what's that mean? Seems majorly quiet to me...how do you like the sound, Marc?

Quiet? QUIET?

This is MUCH louder than the dual out Spintech that was originally included with my system. And it's not the newer Delta style they introduced, this is the older custom muffler only available to Mufflex. As far as Flowmaster's 30 series characteristics, goto Flowmaster's site.

For some reason I can't bring up Mufflex's site, it's not working for me...

If i do believe the 30 series used to be the one chamber muffler, before all the delta stuff, no the one chamber is a 10 series.

I don't think thats a 30s. I sure that is a 40 series Delta Flow. I'm looking at a picture of one in FLOWMASTER's latest catalog. They have one cut open. And the lines that indicate the walls on your muffler match the walls on the 40s Delta Flow perfectly.

Mufflex's site is now working. The only muffler they ever included with their kit is the 30 series. Add that to the fact that Flowmaster doesn't make a Delta flow muffler in a 4" size... In fact, the only way you can get a 4" muffler from Flowmaster is through custom order, which Mufflex does.

On page 11 of the FLOWMASTER catalog at the bottom it shows every size that the 40 series comes in which includes the: 409 STAINLESS 4" Thick - 9.75" Wide - 19" Overall Length - 13" Case Length. It also offers a 5".
As for the Mufflex website I checked the 3rd & 4th gen. section and the only thing it gave was thickness. I did not see anything about the series num.

Those dimensions are referring to the case size not inlet or outlets
