4th gen dual cat y pipe for LT1 swap ??
Is anyone using this y pipe with the cats built into it?
I have heard it is the way to go when doing an LT1 ODB II swap but at $600.00 I wanted some fist hand info or some sugestions. My set up is from a 96'. I have to be smog leagal. I have been told that there is a 25 HP gain over using the single cat. Anyone heard of this?
I was thinging of using shorty LT1 headers with the stock 96-97 dual cat y pipe.

You can run a typical exhaust for your LT1 swap. I would use a single 3" cat and 3" cat back attached to regular 3rd gen headers of your choice. There isn't really a need for dual cats when a high flow 3" will be more than enough. Not to mention it is tons cheaper.

OH man that would be nice as I actually have a full custom exhaust with a high flow 3" single cat with only 1k miles on it, but it is set up from when I had the TPI in the car and I don't know how to work out the AIR intake issues as the LT1 I have now has and electric air pump that only runs for the first minute upon start up and is only plumed into the exhaust manifolds, where the cat I have requirs constant or at least intermintet air during operation to work properly and the air is fed directly into the cat. Or at least this is how I understand it to work. Someone must have worked this out before but search I tried didn't turn anyting up.
