Flowmaster 40 2 and 3 chamber mufflers

I found a 1 inlet 2 outlet flowmaster 40 muffler that is 2 chambered...Whoa...will this sound better than a 3 chamber? Cause Im not really sure what I have on my car now, When I got my flowmaster I wasnt too knowledgable about the series and I just told the muffler place to throw on a flowmaster muffler. And ever since my exhaust has sound so poosy, it sounds almost liek stock. So I heard I prolly have 80 series, so thats what I think, until I hear everyone that has 80 series saying liek "wow mine is really aggressive and ****, and really loud" and mien isnt that at all, it has a low mellow deep rumble to it and its not loud at all at higher rpms, so I looked at teh description of the 50s and it fits my muffler perfectly...what the heck...I dont know what I have on my car...gay...ok cutting to the chase, would 2 chamber 40 series that are one inlet two outlet soudn just as loud as the 40 series one inlet one outlet?

Will the Flowmaster 2 chamber muffler here on this page: http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...6&lastcat=2315

389-9430412

Single In/Dual Out
In/Out: 3''/2-1/2''
Body: 13''
Chambers: 2

Will that fit in the back of the car where the muffler normally is? Or would you have to fit it under and run the tailpipe out? Cause I noticed that the outlets are different positions than the one I have.

1. it will get louder
2. you shouldn't expect the same results from a $80 muffler as you would a $240-$320 flowmaster catback.

The sound will be different. The problem is the 40 series 1 inlet/2 outlet isn't crossflow, so it won't line up with your stock pipes. You will have to get a muffler shop to run custom pipes. I am going to get an estimate on how much it will be to get this done soon. The cat-back has every thing you need(muffler and pipes from you cat. converter to the tips) so it is easier, but it has the crossflow 80 series(2 chamber made for Camaros and Firebirds).

It will be a lot louder than stock, but will call for custom pipes.

traditionaly the "2 chamber" is the 40 series, The "3 chamber" is the 50 series, and the "crossflow" is the 80 series.
