What have you guys done with your exhaust tips?

I wanna get exhaust tips for my car, but my exhuast points down toward the ground. I wanna know, what did you guys do, did you cut the exhaust pipe to where it was straight to put tips on? Any help would be great, Thanks!

I cut the tip where it started to bend down and got some duct tape and taped a 2.5" to 5" chrome tip on each side.

Good G O D , if that is the worst setup I have ever heard of..LoL. There will never be any duct tape on my car.

Go to the auto parts store or look at Jegs/Summit magazines. (summitracing.com or Jegs.com) They have exaust tips for sale. Buy two of them (I personally think anything bigger than 3" on the back of our cars looks ghetto and Trashy) And then go to the muffler shop and have them burn off the old tips and have these welded in place. ur not gonna notice any performance gain but there may be a change in sound. Nothing like the sound u can get from a true full exaust change but if style is all ur looking for, I guess do that. Have a look at mine.

When I had my muffler installed, the guy made it mounted flat (parallel to the ground) instead of angled up slightly, so that the pipes would be able to be run straight back instead of having to be bent to clear the bumper...pretty basic idea, I guess

I cut off my tail pipes 16" from the end. Bought 18" x 3" Magnaflow Stainless tips. Welded them on. Looks good and got rid of the noise inside the car. Cost $42.00 for both tips.

Waitwaitwaitwait, you DUCT TAPED fart pipes to your thirdgen. I think that even people in a ghetto would laugh! What happens when the DUCT TAPE (which, may I remind you is for DUCTS) melts? Buy another can of folgers?
I'm sorry, I guess I have not choice but to sound like an *** when somebody DUCT TAPES their car together.

there are some other options i have seen...i used to use some 2nd gen trans am style tips on my 91 firebird...they curve down and look good in my opinion. Also i have seen tips specially made to fit our OE pipes...they go up and then angle to go straight out right under the gfx...saw them on a formula at UF...they look good. I have seen both for sale at Louisiana Muffler( do a search) I think they call them camaro tips....good luck finding what you want.

Hey! I have similar tips on my car! Except, for some strange reason, they rotate about 1/2 inch while I am driving, so they look a little slanted.

Do they squeek when you go over bumps? They probably need to be tightened where they connect to the bumper.

Not conected to the bumper, just clamped on to the mufflers. The mufflers are hung from the frame.
