Got my Summit Exhaust Cut-out!

Ordered the 3" cut-out late monday night and got it yesterday. Now I just need to get this thing put on! If I had the welding junk, I could do it myself... but instead I gotta wait till next week sometime. Oh well, I hate exhaust work anyways

Here is a pic I snapped real quick of it next to an empty Pepsi can for scale

Yeah, I thought about buying that one, but it said like 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 and that wouldnt work to well for me... Plus, this was only 27 bucks!

Yes, well as I read in another pos, they mess up the flow when closed, but who cares your on the street. Then at the dragstrip you take it off and you have much better flow and the open header sound. I heard someone gained .3 and 1.5 mph just by the cutout. I might have to get me one with my Mac Cat/Cat-back.

Cool. Here's mine:

Here it is after Jet-Hot coating (definitely worth the price; only $11!)

Jza, did you order the cutout, then send it out to be coated; or did you order it already coated?

For some reason, I always thought that those things were smaller. I guess that comes from just seeing parts pictured in catalogs.

I ordered it seperately from Summit, then sent it to Jet-Hot when I sent my headers.

I figured it would be a good idea since the cutout it's only mild steel (better than the cast-iron crap though!) and comes with that crummy black paint that you can see in those pics. It actually already had some surface rust inside when I received it.
