Is my cat. converter effecting my sound ?

My exhaust is stock but I had the muffler taken out and put on dual tips on each side without resonators. If I take out my catalytic converter will it make it any louder? I have a nice loud rumble now but it could be louder. Is the cat really taking away from the tone or volume ?

I would think a brick of ceramic with holes through it would affect sound one way or another.

I removed my cat on my IROC after I put my headers and full catback ehaust on and it made a noticeable difference in overall tone and volume.

If you remove your cat, expect like a 50% increase in your exhaust's decibel level :P

I noticed a sound icrease with the cat gone, but I warn you you might have some Egr SES lights on sometimes, nothing wrong, just annoying when you are showing off for a girl.
