what does just a flowmaster muffler sound like?
i cant afford a cat-back right at the moment but i want a good sounding exhaust. i was going to buy an 80 series muffler and buy some cool looking tips. anybody know what this will sound like? i have flowtech headers and y pipe and a strait pipe through my cat. i want a nice deep rumble at idle and i want to be able to hear it when i get on it. if a flowmaster wont do it what should i get? should i go with the 80 series or a 40 series and just run one pipe out the side? thanks

I love the sound of a Flowmaster. Flowmaster has a distinct sound if you listen. The idle will be pretty loud and when you get on it the sound is great. Altough if you are on a really tight budget and just want to have sound then you can always go with a cut-out Otherwise I recommend a Flowmaster.

Yep, I fell in love with the sound of this car when I first bought it and all it had was the flowmaster muffler. It sounded bad (as in good). Now with the headers and 3.5" tips it sounds even better. I love it.

Yeah, personally I love the sound of flowmasters. Their sound is so distinct, great idle sound. Some think they sound too hollow or like garbage cans getting smashed, but personally I don't hear it.

i think it depends on income. if you got money rolling in (even ifs its slow like me) then i would save for the whole cat back. do it right and do it once ya know. but if ya just have enough for the muffler and tips and arent gonna have money for a long time then i would think about it. although price EVERYTHING out because the hooker cat back is only 200 bux.........
(but its a hooker, and who wants that.....)

im looking into a exhaust also, and flowmaster is one that i am considering. from reading your posts, the muffler has a lot to do with the sound. my question is, with a complete cat-back system, how much does the sound change compared to just a FM muffler?
