woundering will i pass the sniffer

i have an 82 z28 and it has a rebuilt 305 and a th350 tranny and the engine has the computer and emmission delete package and all i have it the old pancake cat. that is goin to be replaced very soon with a catco hi-flow cat and the hook cat-back and i already leaned out the carb with leaner metering rods and a different hanger. after i get the new cat does any one think i will pass new jersey emmissions. also i have heard that if i put some dry gas in like 10 bottles my car will run cleaner to is this true becuz i want to pass with flying colors. please let me know thanx

If you don't think you'll pass the sniffer, take a shower; it's cheap insurance against your date leaving early.

Oops; wrong website!

[edit] Oh, hey, you're in NJ? I passed emissions with a few "cheap" tricks... I put a new air filter on from K-mart. I cleaned up the inside of the distributor cap from carbon. I checked the gap of the spark plugs. I checked the timing after yanking my aftermarket chip. It was January, so I put a piece of cardboard over my radiator to help the car run hotter. The day before the test, I put a bottle of "Guaranteed to Pass" (G2P), from Pep Boys, in my gas tank, and ran the tank down to almost empty. I filled the tank, went for emissions, and passed w/flying colors.

Basically as long as your car is in tune you should pass. One misfiring cylinder can cause 10 cars worth of pollution! Putting a fresh air filter on will help you pass the CO stat, and might also help you pass the HC stat. (Dirty air filter = rich = high HC & CO. Lean condition = high HC only.)
