Flowtech Y Pipe
Do the Flowtech headers come WITH the Y pipe in for the 90$ or is it sold seperately?

it is sold seperately. the headers come with bolts and collectors and some crappy, crappy gaskets, but no y-pipe.

thats a good question...i never bought it. i think its about the same price as the headers if i remember correctly. these are a great header for the price and work real nice on a 305.

Good headers for the money. I didn't think the gaskets were bad. The y-pipe is seperate, but its a turd ball. its just like the stock pipe, it "T"s on the passenger's side. I had a y-pipe built using a Flowmaster y-pipe.

my y pipe from summit was like 85-90 bucks. its pretty crappy too, i had to put a jack under the exhaust and jack it up where it connected to my cat and and put some steel straps on it to keep it from making my cat drag the ground. i dont know if i just got a bad one or if they are all made that way? and yes it does make a T , but it works for me, when it rusts out then ill have one made. but i like the headers, they seem to be good for the money. they fit good, work good, header bolts r a pain and plug wires have to be routed really carefully but im happy with them. the gaskets are crap too, i just used a set of felpro drop ins i had laying around and they work good.

I priced up a pair of Flowtech headers and I asked for the set that came with the ypipe,,,,The guy at the counter said that the catolog listed headers including long pipe. Is a long pipe, what flowtech calls a y pipe????

It looks more like a Y pipe and not a T pipe. It doesn't appear to follow the stock routing, but go under the car, giving up clearence resulting in banging around, etc. It costs roughly $100

i thought the flowtech y pipe looked like that too, thats why i ordered it, but it looks nothing like that. its a shiny cheap steel and it is a T, looks just like the stock one but a little bigger.

first off that picture is not of the f-body y-pipe. that picture is of a y-pipe for 88-95 chevy pickups (2WD/4WD). they dont have a picture of the f-body one that i can see.

No problems I had the starter out and if I did'nt hold them up where they go they would fall clear through,so you can put them in from the bottom or from the top I put them in from the top.

what about air tubes, ithe summit catlog they say they have the flowtech heade and y-pipe that are emissions legal expt for cali,
summit part #-BIG-16102 there 210.69, i'm curios if anybody has them. cause ifyoubuy the regular flowtech heaers they are 90 and the y pipe is 90 to sois when u combine the two they ae 30 more. so i think they have the air tubes or something else.

yea, that link I posted is not a pic of the camaro headers or the camaro y-pipe. It is the link that flowtech says is, but I just bought a set from killjoy, and that ain't them. Looks like they just used a generic picture for their link.

Yep I bought a set of flowtechs and instaled them myself last week. That link is not a pic of camaro ones, headers and ypipe are different.
My ypipe wasnt even painted at all. And the o2 sensor mounting point comes pluged and to use it you got to drill it out (but the treads are there.
I only had to remove the old manifods and the ypipe to put mine in and I unhooked a few rear plug wires to drop them down from the top,,,,I didnt even take off my starter.
I thought the gaskets that came with it were fine,,,,they were paper but had metal samwiched in them so they cant be that bad. I dont notice and leaks yet.
Last summer I had them cut out my cat and put in a pipe,,,,all I did was cut it alittle shorter and clamped the flowtech ypipe over the pipe they used instead of a cat.
I also thing the ypipe is more of a "t" then a "y" but i dont mind. Overall I was pretty happy with them but i wish the ypipe was painted like the headers but its cool.
If you buy just the headers they still come with lower gaskets and bolts and the 2 flanges that you use to make your own ypipe. I opted to get the ypipe so I could bolt up everything myself.

1.5" primaries, 2.5" collectors, and 2.5" ypipe. Everything is pretty small as far as headers go, but I'm guessing that they are a little easier to work with. I installed a set of Hedman or Hookers a number of years ago with the 1 5/8" primaries and 3" collectors and those took about 12 hours to install because the engine had to be unbolted and jacked up to fit the drivers side header in.

I have the Flowtech's and they work pretty good.
They have 1.5" primary tubes and the Y-pipe is kind of a turdball, but for us poor (cheap bastads) they are all right.
I'm going to re-use them when I install the 350.
I'm going to be working under my Z this weekend and i'll get some pics.
The only time I've scraped anything was when I Banzia' d through an intersection and caught some air time
