Flowtech headers and y-pipe

I was thinking about buying the flowtech headers and y-pipe. I know that the headers are only 1.5" but how big is the y-pipe? Is it any better thatn the Hedman y-pipe?

Well it was bigger than the stock LG4 ypipe. But I think for the TPI cars its the same as stock

I've got the Flowtech shorties and Y-pipe but I'm not sure on the diameter of the Y-pipe, but I think it is 2 1/2".

I wouldn't buy them again, the quality is absent. I had to grind the header flange flat for two ports and build up the welds, then I still had a leak inside the collector on the passenger's side that was a real pain to fix. Even after all the follow-up work out of the box they still leak all over the place.

I'm prepared to have to re-engineer a bit using headers but this was over the top. Next time SLPs or something of similar quality.

That's funny that you had so much trouble with your Flowtech's. My Flowtech's were of amazing quality for the price. I just put the Edelbrock's TPI header beside the Flowtech's the other day and the Flowtech's by far looked better quality-wise over the Edelbrock's.

I agree with iroc22, I had no trouble with my flowtechs except for the gaskets. The quality seemed good for only $90. But to each his own, I'm happy with mine.

I think it's just the luck of the draw. Some are good, some are crap. Mine were the latter.

I wasn't in a situation where I could open the box and check them out first, I had them shipped to me from 1000 miles away.
