Anyone put an exhaust-manifold-mounted EGR on non-emissions headers?
Hey all, I've got the 2.8 V6 in my car, and it has the EGR valve mounted to the passenger-side exhaust manifold. It's not mounted to my intake manifold. If I buy the 3.4 V6 (93-94 f-body) headers for my car, they don't have a spot for the EGR.
Has anyone made a mount for the EGR on non-emissions headers? I'm not sure where to tap it in! Looks like making the base for the EGR valve is straightforward... a plate of steel welded to a tube. But- where should I have it suck the exhaust from? I see three options:
1. Have the EGR get the exhaust from one of the primaries
2. Bend/weld a tube all the way from the EGR spot to the passenger side collector
3. Build an AIR-type manifold, so the EGR takes from all three (V6!) of the passenger side primary tubes
Has anyone done this? Any thoughts? [edit] Oh, and yeah, I can weld... not like a pro yet, tho!

Yes! Exactly like that! Did that motor go through emissions testing yet? If it did, and I "just" have to tap into one exhaust port for the EGR, that'll be great!
I also dug up this picture of Holley's Hooker headers for a 98 Camaro... note the header on the left, it's got the EGR off the collector, that looks like a pain to add! http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLin...G/f2077-1.html
Shouldn't their '86-90 305/350 f-body headers (at http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLin...SHG/f2055.html ) also have an EGR fitting? Or did those cars have the EGR mounted on the intake manifold?
Thanks!

Tom, the 3.4 headers DO have an EGR hook up on the passenger side. I have them on my 3.1 and the EGR hooks up perfectly. If your 2.8 is a tad bit different than my 3.1 all you would have to do is extend the EGR tube somehow going into the plenum. The EGR base wher it fits on the exhaust manifold looks like a wide triangle with a large hole in the center and 2 bolt holes on ech side of it. If your EGR base looks like this it should work fine. The only problem is bending the headers and getting the y-pipe made.

Really?? Awesome! Thanks, 3.1! My EGR does look the same as that. Cool, less work for me!
Thanks again!
