Who does mandrel bending?
I have the Borla Cat Back Exhaust and I need the small section of the intermediate pipe to bolt on to the Cat. I was wondering if Meineke or Midas uses mandrel bending for their pipes. Will they make me a pipe that will go into the Borla Cat Back?

I am also in NJ (Morristown area) i went to Mineke and they told me that no one in the state mandrel bends pipes!! I need a 3" version of the passenger side tailpipe. I havn't looked since. I did find a site though... www.auto-jet.com they mandrel bend pipes. I emailed them 2 months ago and never got a response. If you find one, let me know!

Maybe yall can have a Muffler shop fabricate what you need using mandrel U or J bends from Jegs/Summit. Even those have a reduced diameter at the bends - I measured about 2.4 in at the bends on a 2.5 in U bend.

I have been looking for the same thing for the last month for my borla system. I am about to put in headers and want to replace that section with 3" pipe to match the rest of the system. I aslo called around in my area and everyone told me the same thing that noone in my state does it. What I am going to do is have Midas make me two Identicle bends, one to put on the car right now and one that I am going to send off to a place that does mandrel bending.

I just had mine done a couple days ago. Took it to Meineke and the custom bent me a 2 1/2" pipe. I needed it done ASAP because I didn't want the pipe to rust off and catapult me!! Not to happy with it but it had to do cause 2.5" was the largest diameter they had and I don't think it's mandrel bent, I still have to check. I paid $60 for the job, at least it's quiet where it's supposed to be.

If you will buy the parts from summit or jegs as I just did then take them to a muffler shop they can cut and weld up the correct shaped pipe for you. I think the 3" u bend cost about $23 and has about 12" of straight pipe on each end of the u. One peice may be enough.
