You have to "break in" mufflers? Uhhh, Ive had mine for about 3 weeks now and they sound the same, they dont sound much different than my stock muffler, just a little deeper.

Flowmasters have NOTHING to break in, it's all metal, no fiberglass. it kinda sounds like a big truck, nice sounding acceleration.

The 40 series is a 2 chamber, single in, single out muffler(usualy single out can but dual on the same side). I have one on my Jeep. 4.2L inline 6. Nice and loud. Sounds the same as the day it was put in. That was about 3 years ago.

The 80 series is a cross flow with a single inlet and dual crossflow outlet. I have that one on my Formula. It took a couple months to break in and get louder. I'm REALLY REALLY surpised it did considering my 40 series didn't and flowmasters have no fiberglass packing in them. I figure it coated with soot or something.

There were other people telling me that their 80 series broke in too. I didn't believe them because I had had my 80 for a few months and it didn't change. A while after that, it did. I got it in the beginning of this past summer. I figure it took a couple months to break in. About 4 months maybe. it got louder and a bit deeper. The stock exaust infront of it is really choking it though. 2.25" single intermediate pipe is pathetic.
