hooker headers coated or uncoated???

i've decided to put a true dual exaust system much like the one that fastthirdgen posted and put on his car but his the delima i want to start asap but i aslo wanted to get my headers ceramic coated the hooker long tubes are most likely the ones i'm gonna go with and are to to pricy at 389.99 from jegs but coated from jegs for the same headers cost 659(also from jegs) now i've heard on some other posts that if u can find a muffler shop that does it its possible to get a set of long tubes coated for around 200 bucks so i need some thoughts on which way i should go just break down and buy the coated ones buy the regular ones and have them coated or install uncoated headers(which i'd rather not do) also what have some of u guys out there done???

Well, unless you have more than 400 hp the Hooker's are a waste, they're 1 3/4 , where as you can get coated Hedman long tubes 1 5/8th for about $280, which I plan to do, unless I come across some more money, lol.

I'll be puttin out around 390hp or so though.

Yup, pretty much, unless you could prolly sell them later on, maybe. for a loss of course.

But, I would strongly suggest saving up for some coated ones.

Me, I'm just going to get the coated hedmans, even though they may slightly take away a hp or 2, but I'd rather have coated headers. I can't tell you how many times, I've burnt wires, and plus they'll look better, and give back a few hp from decreased underhood temps.

I have the normal hedman headers and I plan on buying another set of them eventually and getting them coated. Then I will swap them out when the times appropriate. The hedmans are really nice headers for 100$ you cant beat them. They also fit very well and I had no clearance problems with them.

i have 1-3/4 primary hooker supercomp coated headers with 3 inch collectors....they were about 600 bucks....

however, thats about the best header money can buy...but if you arent flowing alot of air the benefit of such a radical header (and expensive) wont be as much....they have excellent scavenging
