Dissapointing Christmas.

My gift for christmas this year was a set of 1 5/8 inch Hedman Hedders. I was glad my parents got them for me, but after I started to pull out the OEM parts I saw that they weren't going to fit. The headers are too long, the collectors are too far to the rear of the car and won't even come close to connecting the exhaust pipe that leads to the cat. Can you believe that? Now I have to take them back and try to get another pair that will bolt in without any modifications. If anyone knows of a brand that makes a set that will fit my LG-4 without cutting or welding I'd like to hear from you.

Shawn, call JEGS they sell a y-pipe to fit those headers and will connect to a 3" cat. The part number is 500-17470 $98.99 page 32. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help, but I was hoping I could exchange them for a pair that would fit rather than spending $100 for more parts. Does anyone have a pair that come with all the parts you need and just bolt right in? This is getting more complicated than I thought it would be.

Sorry man..but there isn't a set of headers made period that bolt up to the stock exaust..you will need to buy the y pipe Camaro Mike mentioned.

Many companies make header/y-pipe sets. Edelbrock makes one for cars with the 2.25" cat and another for cars with the 3" cat that come with the headers AND the y-pipe. As far as I know, Hooker only makes one for the 3" cat. The Edelbrocks are about $315 w/ the y-pipe and the Hookers are about $350 with the y-pipe.

I hope this helps and it got to you in time, if you need any more help, just ask. . .
