what do you guys think of spintech???

just wondered what you guys think of spintech mufflers - I need a new muffler for my 3 inch exhaust - I was thinking of going with a hooker. One of my friends just put 2 spintech mufflers on his 5.0 t-bird and it sounds sweet you can only hear the low rumble and then at wot it gets loud as hell.
I just noticed spintech has special mufflers for f-bodys. - Well just wondered what you guys thought.

I have one. I have had Banks and Flowmaster previously, and the Spintech is the best, in my opinion. It is a high quality piece, and the sound is very good. I bought a Mufflex 3.5" exhaust, and didn't want to use the Flowmaster that comes with it. Denny at Mufflex suggested and sent the Spintech and I couldn't be happier. He also has one on his LS1 F-body.
PS. I don't have a sound byte, But there is one on the Mufflex website. http://www.mufflex-performance.com

Love my spintech and everyone that's heard it says it sounds good. I did have a soundclip but it's gone now... I'll get another one posted after I bolt up the new headers, probably sometime next weekend.

Here is the correct address for <a href="http://www.mufflex-performance.com/">Mufflex</a>.

Glad to see they are getting more flexible. When I tried to buy a 3.5" system from them in July, they wouldn't sell it unless it included the Flowmaster race muffler. Got quite a bit of attitude from the tech's on the other end of the line too. Hopefully that is changing too!

88IROCS, Thanks for correcting the address I posted above. I bought my 3.5" system in May.
I told them I didn't want the Flowmaster. Denny (the owner, I think) called me back, and offered the Spintech in it's place. He said he had one on his LS1, and lost no performance. He also said it was alot quieter. He also stated that they were thinking of making a "touring" option (with the Spintech) as opposed to the racing system (with the Flowmaster).
News flash! I just visited their site and they now offer the F-body system with a Spintech muffler as an option.

Looks like I just hit them on two successive days when their tech support/phone guy needed time off.

At any rate, by the time I phoned them my Borla muffler and tips were already on the way from Carparts.com. Which means, even with the Spintech(which looks a little intriguing) I would have been stuck with a muffler I didn't want. Then to add insult, a couple of weeks after I finished my exhaust, I noticed Z28.com had a group purchase going which would've knocked $80 off of the 3.5" system.

Ahh well, ya can't always get whatcha want. But if ya try sometimes,...

I heard spintechs on my friends t-bird and they sound sweet - he works at a muffler shop and swears they're the best. I need to finish my exhaust because i have a 3 inch system with a 2.5 inch muffler which is in my opinion just lame I just ran out of money when I had all the work done in march.
