1984 camaro 305 lg4 eng. code H

First I would to thank the senior members who have me thus far. Now it is to my understanding I can use EDL 6872 which applies to 1986-1990 5.0/5.7 TPI CAMARO/FIREBIRD with single 3 inch inlet slip-on cat on my car. Every thing else is the same,air,oy2,and it is simple step by step process holding back the fact that I have to change the cat to a 3 inch slip fit inlet and the cat back piping to coinside. PLEASE tell if I'm wrong. Also the Catco direct fit is 2 inches shorter than cat for the LG4 system. Will EDL TES make up the positioning? parts numbers as follows EDL TES 6872/ CTO-9118/EDL cat back 5672 for applications with a single Catalytic converter 2 3/4" stock intermediate pipe- 3" inlet\ dual 2 1/2 outlets. Again correct me if im wrong on any of the parts.

If you buy headers & y-pipe for '86-'90 TPI single-cat system, direct-fit cat for '86-'90 TPI single-cat system, and cat-back for '86-'90 TPI single-cat system, it will all bolt together, fit on your engine, and fit within your chassis. Relative sizes to the LG4 parts is irrelevant.

Any particular reason you're looking at the Edelbrock parts? Can't say I'm too impressed by the 2-3/4" I-pipe.

I just wanted a bigger Y pipe for better flow and possible on down the road 350 swap. Tell me better and I'll go with it.

Hooker 2055 headers, Hooker cat-back.

3 inch

Can I just buy a 3 inch cat back for this application and be in good shape. Matching engine codes for new set up was hard for me,so I stayed with Edelbrock.

If you're looking for a complete exhaust, go for the VIN code "F" or "8" in '86-'90 model years. That's the TPI single cat system. Stay away for anything made for LG4 VIN code "H".

Headers: Hooker 2055 $350
Cat: Catco 9118 $117
Cat-back: Hooker 16823 $260

Plus shipping, of course.

why not just buy a 4 bolt flange cat, and get the $200 hooker system, that's what I would do.

I have an even better idea....remove the Cat and put a piece of pipe there!! Works wonders...sounds better, flows better, and you never have to worry about it clogging.
