how low do longtubes hang?
i have slp headers but can get used hooker longtubes pretty cheap now. i hate the exhaust setup and y-pipe on these cars. i want to get either longtubes or shorties and kinda make duals that run under the doors and turndown before the rear tires.
RSS said his friend has a car like that but i couldnt get his email address.
anyway, the my cars sits pretty low and i hear longtubes dont go with lowered cars.

I'd just keep your SLP headers. I got some installed on my car today. I'm gonna run a 3" pipe to a glasspack that'll go in the stock muffler location. It has no ground clearace problems at all.
My friends Camaro didn't have ground f/x so that's how he ran them. He had shorty headers and pipes that turned at about a 60 degree angle to piont towards the rear of the car (this is horrible for exhaust flow). Each pipe had a glasspack on it. the entire exhaust was pretty close to the ground so it would probably not work for a lowered car. His exhaust flowed like pure **** due to the pipe bends. It sure as hell did sound good though.

it'll do 145 mph though

I have heddman long tubes on my car and I have never drug them. I do baby it across speed bumps but other than that, no problems. My car is even lowered 1in in front. I have heard the heddmans do not hang as low as the hookers, you may want to look into it.

A few years ago a friend of mine installed full length headers on his 88 Firebird. He was always complaining about the collectors scraping/hitting things. I don't know if this would be as much of a problem on something with a stiffer front suspension, but it was the main reason I didn't install full length headers on my car.
