I tried that for a while.
I think you'll need to install them after the motor's in.

Hey Guys!
I have the 3005's on my '84 T/A (1 3/4" primaries, w/o AIR) and I put them on the 350 before i dropped it in, worked out great, and I'm really glad I did it that way, because I think it would have been a major PITA to install them after the engine was in. Oh, BTW, if you have the extra $$ and can wait an extra week, send your headers out to Jet Hot and get them ceramic coated, I did, and I'm really glad, they look so much better, and since mine were new pieces Jet Hot guarantees that they will never rust. Anyway, that's just my .02, if you have any other quesitons feel free to ask!!!

With weather and time permitting, we may drop my motor in this week. And tip on what to do about putting it in with the headders on? We were thinking of putting on one side and doing it that way. Any other info? thanks

I actually droped my motor in with both sides on, I left the bolts finger tight though in case we needed to take them off real quick. My heater box wasn't installed yet when I put my motor in, so if you have your heater box installed you might get some interference from that. I had no trouble dropping my motor in with the 1 3/4" headers on, so I think it should work allright for you, but keep an eye on your heater box if you've got it installed. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask and I'll try and help out! Good luck!

Yeah the heater box is still in there! So is all of the ac stuff. I got mine coated too so i definately don't want to mess around with them too much! I guess you just have to do it slowly, thats all. There will be atleast two of us there, maybe three, so i am sure if something would happen we would know. Thanks-Bryan
