how long do alumiinized steel pipes last?
Im just wondering how long u think the aluminized pipes would last on the random technology cat back.
The aluminized one is 330$ and stainless steal is 513$ i think
i dont wanna order it and like a year later they get discolored and rusty since the 3 inch pipes are sticking out the back yet im not too sure about spending 513 dollars on a catback exhaust

Got em on my pickup, going on 5 years with no problems. They did discolor, not rust, just discolor to about a sand color. They also take paint quite a bit better than SS. I dont have any chrome or silver on my truck, except for my Hellcats, so I painted my exhaust tips gloss black.
I'll post a pic for you tomorrow.

My Dynomax is aluminized and has lasted +2 yrs with only one surface rust spot. It's a spot where a shop had beat the seam of the muffler with a sledge hammer so they could get the exhaust out of the way. They had to drop the tank to repair a few holes in it from where I poked holes in it.
I didn't know the tank was THAT close to the body.
Other than that, it still looks pretty good. I suppose I should paint it with high temp paint just to keep the moisture out.

Just to clarify, My tips look great with the gloss black hi-temp paint on them, I just didn't paint the whole exhaust system, so that's where it is sand colored. Damnit, I left my friggin' flash card at home, I'll post those pics tonite. Stainless stuff discolors too, though to more of a shiny/rusty/bluish kind of color. They wont stay shiny like you're looking for. If you want shiny, have chrome tips put on the end of your tail pipes. The exhaust guy I use has tips that are like 18" long, so you should be able to get the look you want using the aluminized stuff. FYI, exhaust shops like using the aluminized stuff better anyway because it's easier to work with and it's cheaper.

FYI, there is another one just like that one on the other side of the truck. Here is the junction where it splits at the rear.
