EDIT: I forgot to mention, if you're talking about future value as in way down the line if its a collector's car, then I'd keep it stock and low mileage.

I agree, as far as value to, a stock car would be worth more. I mean think about this would a 1901 Ford Model T car be worth more if its modified, with rear-end, recent V8 engine, and alot of other stuff, or a mint "stock" one with all the original parts still in it? U get my drift, so of course as stated buyers looking for different things, but when it comes down to appraising a car, u cant be low mile, mint, stock car.
Actually that be kinda crazy having a Model T with that stuff...lol

ITs not goning to make a diffrances I know guys that have 60s Camaros and thay dont have a Stock Exhaust System main reson Being The Exhaust Didnt last as long as the rest of the car did.
Alot of 60 Muscle To dont have there Orginal Exhaust sytems Does that mean that a 69 camaro Z28 is worth less cous it has a diffrent Exhaust on it no...
A car is only worth as much as some one is welling to pay for

I agree with Mark, especially on an RS. Not that some of them aren't valueable, but they're just not desirable like the Irocs, Z28s, GTAs, etc. If you change the exhaust you can always keep the original in case you want to make it stock again.

my opinion is being a 92rs tbi the value on it prolly is going to mean much for some time
yeah it might make a difference 30-50 years down the road
but prolly not enough to worry about
so go for it
change it all

Lets say there we 2 almost identicle cars. Same milage and condition. One was modified and the other was completely stock
Even if the stock one cost a little more I'd buy it. Why? The same reason as stated above. If its been modified its probably been a little abused and who knows what kinda person performed the modifications.

Dude, we're talking about an exhaust system here and on an RS. Your car is modified. Do you abuse it? There's plenty of stock cars out there too that are abused. Don't take this the wrong way, I'm not flaming and I see what you are saying, I just don't see it as being a big deal on an RS.

i my first two cars where all stock other than performance mufflers.
1988 iroc-z 5.7 had a dynomax muffler, i guess the guy went to a shop and got it installed because the old one went bad (rusted out)..
my 1988 formula 350 had a flowmaster muffler, i guess that guy got it put on for the same reason.
my 1991 is all stock, but i wish it at least had a performance muffler for sound reasons, o well this car will have a nice exhaust one day!!
i bought the iroc-z because it was close to my house, had a decent price, and was overall in good condition. too bad i wrecked it a few months later.
then i bought the formula 350, i bought that because i could not pass up the price tag, the drivetrain and interior were great, but the exterior sucked needed paint and fenders.. to bad it got wrecked some girl hit me this time, i was just thinking about getting a paint job a few days before it happened..
i bought my 1991 because it was in very great condition overall, the price was great, and i like the 91-91 formulas the most.
so just putting on exhaust wont hurt a thing and it makes some people even pay more for the car because it sounds good..

You've already put a chip in it and changed the air cleaner- these are mods, no? Does your car have the original tires? ...Belts & Hoses?
I used to have a 66 Mustang and got sucked-into the number's matching resto-thing. I put it all back to stock and ended up with a baby-blue 6cyl. when what I really wanted was a red V8 car. I hated the car when it was done (and sold it).
Do what YOU want to the car and have fun with it.
