Paint for headers?

Is there a paint that will cover headers without flaking or bubbling from the heat? I have been thinking of Jetcoat but paint would be cheaper.

Barbeque paint works for quite awhile til you have to paint it again because even the bbq paint will lift off a bit.

Has anyone used POR20? I have used POR15 on a wonderbar and swaybars and have been pleased.

I used the VHT 1500 stuff and it works great. I sand blasted it, then painted and baked it and its worked great so far. Y pipe didnt work so good cause I couldnt bake it, but im thinking of sending that off to jet hot.

Me too, we put our headers on about the same time as I remember. I haven't posted anything new in "coated my headers and y-pipe, I'll keep everyone updated on how it lasts" for a while. You might wanna check it out though man, many pics of my VHT coated headers and Y pipe. Its great stuff, but don't do it like I did. Use a chemical stripper and strip ALL the paint off the headers first instead of just wire brushing it and getting most of it off like I did since I was in a hurry. The paint is holding up great except the areas I painted over the shipping paint. Since the shipping paint is starting to flake, its taking the coating I sprayed over it off with it a bit. In the bare metal areas though its holding up just great. VHT 1500 all the way. I bought 2 cans, $5 each. I've still got 1/2 a can left too. Much cheaper than getting coated! Not gonna be quite as good but its not bad.

I used DEI 1500 degree paint. The shipping paint must be stripped off, one way or another (sand blast an excellent choice). After painting, they have to be "cured" at about 400 degrees prior to installation.

My paint has held up fairly well on the headers over 8 months. But, the y-pipe was too large to fit in the kitchen oven, so it was cured-in-place - run for a short time, shut off and cooled, started again, etc. That isn't nearly as effective a way to cure it, and there is some rust showing up.
