What sound characteristics does the SLP exhaust have???
I have a 91' TA with flowmaster exhaust and love the sound.
I want the performance gain of the 3" SLP exhaust, but I was wondering what type of sound it gives.
Is it similar to flowmaster?
Louder?
Quiter?
I will be adding headers later too. What difference in sound will this make?
Thanks.

Hi John,
You must be pretty sold on the SLP if you are going to ditch a 3" flowmaster for them!!!
I just have the stock 2 1/4" flowmaster on my 91' TA right now. Got them strictly for sound before I realized that I should have been thinking about performance at the same time.
So let me know how you like them.
Thanks.
Anyone else out there that has this set up???

You might pick up 1 HP over the switch, if you already have a cat-back, I wouldn't waste the money.
The headers will help the sound a lot.

So Mark,
You are telling me that my stock 2 1/4" pipe and cat with the flowmaster exhaust is only 1 HP in difference from a 3 " SLP cat back set up????
This is so contrary to what I have been told and have read on other posts.
For instance some members said that the SLP 3" cat back will give better gains from what I have than by even adding headers!!
Please clarify this with me as I would rather not spend the extra big $$$ if I don't need to.
Thanks.

Going from the stock 2.25 to 3" exhaust will definately help you.
Though I would say adding headers will give you better performance than the cat-back, unlike some may have said, I see the stock manifolds and y-pipe be far more restrictive than the stock cat-back. Still, go for the whole exhaust and it will wake the car up quite a bit.

Hi Mark,
Yea. That was John Rock who was going to ditch the 3" Flowmaster for the 3" SLP.
Guess it is more a matter of taste for him.
Thanks for clarifying it with me. I was puzzled there with your response to me. I wanted to save the $$$, but I had a feeling you got me confused with my response to John's 3" Flowmaster.
I'll be upgrading probably at the end of the year when I can get some time off from work with the holidays.
Thanks again.
