477 bbc what cam?
I am starting a parts list for my new motor. I am going with a dart big M block 4.5" bore and a 3.76 stroke crank. I figure it would be a big block version of a 302 sbc. I am going to use forged rods and pistons to the tune of 10to 1 comp ratio. heads will be performer rpm 118 cc 315cc. a wieand stealth with an 850cfm carb. I'm not sure what cam I will use I want to make power till 8000 shifting at 7750.

What do you want to use the engine for, street or all out drag racing. Already I can see a bad mismatch of parts even without the cam. Your carb is way too small for the size of the engine and the rpm range you want to spin it to. With the specs you have so far, I would guess the engine would peak at around 6600 rpm.
Save your money from buying parts that won't work well together and buy a package engine.

First off, you are going to need a 1150cfm+ Carb for that kind of RPM with that many cubes, and might as well top it off with a good Single-Plane Intake.
With those Heads you want and a Lunati .280°/284° @ .050, .722"/.722 ", 110lsa cam, your peak power is about 640 @ 6500rpm, and still makes 610 @ 7500rpm. Torque sucks till about 3500 & peaks around 5000 (all according to Desktop Dyno), and you will need at least a 3500 TC. Doesn't sound very fun to drive.
It will take alot of research and experience to make a streetable engine like that. I agree with Stephen, get a complete engine package if you don't know how to build what you want.

I just realized the heads and carb were an old 427 build sheet.
the heads are going to be dart pro1 345cc 2.3/1.88 and intake/carb weinand teamG/1190kingdemon. This should be better. now what cam? It is for mostly drag with very little street use.
