305 to 350
#2
If you're just switching everything on your 305 (that already runs) over to a 350 block, then someone who has never done it before and isn't a complete dumbass can do it over a weekend. All you need are some basic standard and metric tools, a cheap Haynes or Chiltons manual and this site.

What would you do, take out the 305, set it next to the 350. Then just swap everything over (including heads, intake manifold and all?) What parts would you need to keep from the 350 to achieve better performance??? LIke will the 305 heads restrain the 350? Anything else?
Cause i have the tools, the know-how, Chiltons, the weekend, and a 355 Block from an 86 Suburban. Ur telling me this is a simple procedure that could be done in a weekend? One day rip out 305, one day to swap over and clean engine bay, one day to put in 350? ... or something like that?
Interesting thoughts ......
