(B)limey! Headers on the outside, cast manifolds on the inside.

"Edelbrock 750"? Why not call it a q-jet? I think that's the tallest manifold I've ever seen one sitting on.

Can't tell exactly what heads those are.

Curious why you chose a mechanical cam. That's not too much duration for hydraulics. But, shouldn't float 'em, anyway. I also understand why you're waiting for TC & gears before driving.

I've always had a soft spot for 327's (or 331 in your case). Last time I had one was back in 1973, though.

Just to clarify, the headers on the stand are actually for my the 32 Plymouth. When i first put the motor in i used the manifolds, because the actual headers for my car hadn't come in yet. I bought hedman 48460 (i believe) long tubes. And you're right on the carb, that is a quadrajet on there. I knew it was adjusted properly so i could just fire my new motor up and set the timing without worring about the carb. I used a set of 462 double hump castings with the 1.94, 1.5 valves. I used the mechanical cam because i prefer the throttle response over the hyd. The reason i'm not driving it now is because I'm in the middle of re-wiring my dash for all autometer gauges and i'm waiting for my summit order to get here. The couple drives i took it on were fun though i like the fact that i can take my first gear to 50-55mph and 2nd to about 95 pretty cool.

JM, thanks, just wait till i put up some new pictures after i put my new ign, the new carb, and the headers on. I sold the multi-colored car to a friend of mine. I had a great start on it, but money talks. Plus he let me take everything i wanted off of it. I'm home most days during the afternoon. I have a new address though. i'll e-mail it to ya.

P.S. about the 326 i've got one that runs, but smokes a little that i'll make a good deal on to you if you need it for any parts?

What year is it and what car is it off of? I really don't need any parts for it. I want to bore it over but either they don't make piston or they're wayy wayy too expensive. THanks though, but I will keep you in mind. A friend gave me an incredible deal on it. It runs well with the tranny. When the 2.8 blows (or when I make it blow ) I plan on putting that in. If you have any deals on engine parts. Like a carb or something I would like to see what you have to sell. Also, where do you go for parts junk yard wise. Paul's is a rip off. The brown county one is alright but they hardly have any 3rd gens. I also need a rear end. Basically, I need a new car. No, not really. I'll probably stop by this week.

Take care,
Jon

JMBoriss, the 326 came out of an 1966 pont lemans. If you want it, i'll give it to you, I just want to get rid of it. As far as parts i go to this junkyard in Gnawbone that is way out in the country. I know the guys there pretty well. I can get parts any time of day, any day of the week. There aren't any real good cond 3rds out there, but they do have an 84 4cyl camaro with the 3.73 rear i've been eyeing. I also go to Gore's in Shelbyville

you'll have to call or come by sometime. I've got a good selection of parts. if you're interested in a carb i've got a good one i'd get rid of. and a set of chrome valve covers for your poncho motor.

if you really want to get rid of it, I would be MORE than happy to get it off your hands .That's crazy, mine is from a 66 lemans too. I'm interested in that camaro with the rear end you said. Were you going to buy the rear end? Do you know how much it would be? Would I be treading on your territory if I would to get some money to buy it? (you did see it first). I don't want to start any wars . I didn't get that message you wrote me. if you can get me some kind of deal on that rear end (if it's not on your to buy list that is), I would be more than happy to give you my 3.42's. They're good but they have some slop in them and I don't have a clue how to swap out gears. Do you know if they are disk or drum? Look at me, I'm all excited. That's sad. If you can give me your address I would be able to go there monday and see your awesome cars. What's your opinion on the 326? Is it worth it? I've got this now, it runs and with tranny. Sure, I could sell it, find someone out there who wants it (who????) then buy a 350 etc. . . But like you and the 327, it's unique. I heard because of the short stroke they make alot of torque too?? Plus, I would be going from a manual to a automatic, as they do not make kits for the BOP patterns and T5 mixes. or whatever.

Take care,
Jon
