1985 Camaro 2.8v6 to a v8 ideas?

Hi, I have a 1985 Camaro 2.8 v6. I'm wanting to swap it to a v8. Really want a 6.0, but would also like to keep the swap simple and cost effective. What all would intel swapping a 350, or a 5.7 into it vs the 6.0? Would swapping a motor from that era intel less changes in the swap compared to the 6.0? I am open to ideas. The car has all the wiring harness, transmission etc. The car will not be a daily. It'll be my wife and I weekend car.

Read read read read read read read read BEFORE posting, like it says. You asking questions, and us answering them one at a time, could go on for MONTHS, and you STILL not "learn" everything you need to know, because that would depend on you ALREADY KNOWING what questions to ask, which you DON'T. Don't expect us to personally attend to you and spoon-feed you when it's ALL already out there.

Neither one of those links answered my question. I read this forum pretty regularly and read it before I posted this. I was just wanting to see other peoples opinions on why they went with the motor they did. As in my last thread pertaining to the no spark, I have read and read followed by more reading before I posted it because I have been trying to track down that issue. So therefore you're not spoon feeding me. If you cant handle people posting on here because that is what it is used for then fck off.

Both - 5.7 and 6.0 swaps are pretty easy. A LS swap will require more creativity in some ways but not much. There are plenty of bolt in parts available for both. You need to decide what you are looking for. Do you want a 300hp car or a 500hp car. The drivetrains and frames can only handle so much power with out upgrades. The v6 trans won't bolt up. The rear likely has less desirable gears and an open diff. So figure out what you want/read up a bit and ask questions. It's like any other engine swap, what's coming out doesn't matter much, you're putting in a totally different setup. A SBC will be easier and you can use stock parts but an LS and the swap parts are plentiful at this point. Go down a bunch of internet rabbit holes on engine swaps!

Your "question" reads like:

"INTERNET SWAP MY MOTOR FOR ME NOW!"

Read read read read read read read read BEFORE posting, like it says. Nobody is interested in looking up or findiong out or figuring out every detail you might run into, and sit here waiting for you to post, so we can spoon-feed it to you. Read read read read read read read read BEFORE posting, like it says. Then, once you have A QUESTION ("question" singular... not "how do I do a swap") that hasn't already been answered, which I'm pretty sure there are NONE possible except if you haven't READ thoroughly enough, come back and post, and we'll do our best to help out.

Otherwise, go forth and multiply fruitfully on your own, by yourself; and leave us the hell alone.

Re: 1985 Camaro 2.8v6 to a v8 ideas?

For a weekend cruiser '85 camaro, just install a mild 350,TH 350 or 700 and enjoy-a 700 will suit the 3.42 rear gears a mid-80s v6 usually has and that transmission is easy to find.Don't try too hard to make a car designed in the malaise era to be fast by 2024 standards-there is faulty steering geometry and several other faults that would need corrected....With a decent SBC,properly installed,it will sound cool and squeal out nice
