Iroc 383
Hi, looking for some advice here please, I’m going to put a 383 stroker in my 1986 iroc , I’m using top line cast iron heads 202/160 valves 64cc chambers, I bought a scat 383 kit with flat top pistons and also a gm 383 camshaft 222/230 duration and 509/528 lift. I’m unsure of the intake system I should run here , it’s currently the Tpi which I’d like to keep fuel injection but the original set up will limit the power. Is the GM LT1 intake an option here ??? What are my options going forward?? Thanks

Re: Iroc 383
Number of different intakes available…
FIRST
Holley Stealth Ram
TPIS Miniram (similar to LT1)
Modified LT1 to fit on Gen1 SBC ("poor man's" Miniram.... sometimes you can find used ones for sale)
Accel Super Ram
Stock TPI, except larger runners and base
Each one has it’s own performance characteristics.
That said, if you stay with stock TPI, you’ll severely choke off that 383.
The shorter runner manifolds (Miniram, LT1, Stealth Ram) will require a lot more attention on accelerator enrichment fueling as they’re very sensitive to that.
In any event, you will definitely require some amount of tuning to deal with this vastly different configuration than stock.
I guess it depends on what you’re goals are… purely street? Street/Strip? Hitting high-rpm often or not? Do you want low-to-mid-range torque? Or upper RPM power? Could also impact your cam choice.

I run an a Edelbrock proflow XT. It's been awesome. It's my second proflow setup and I've been happy with both. I have about 700 miles on this one w a 450hp/tq 350.
the car is in paint now but you get the idea. It fits under the stock TA hood!

you can see some examples in this thread of one of my builds... this contains some info on utilizing a blueprint 383 with a FIRST TPI and then a ProFlow XT... liking the XT

Yeah, the XT has been awesome. I kind of don't get why more people don't use these setups vs stock setups. They work awesome and are easy to tune. And the proflow has boost compatible software now!!!
