LS1 vs. RAM JET 350 swap, which would be better overall??
taking everything into condsideration, power, driveability, exhaust note, difficulties, looks, anything...would an LS1 and a six speed(used) be better overall than a Ram Jet 350/six-speed swap. it would be for an 85 TA, it has a stock 305 and i'm taking advice from numerous people on ditching it for a 350...any opinions would be appreciated. thanks

350 is definatly the way to go. unless you want to modify alot of stuff i would go with the ram jet. its more hp. and more hp almost always sounds better coming out the pipes. Plus it will be much less time consuming to put in. An older six speed 92-98 will bolt up to it. Also the ram jet comes with instructions and a book full of codes in case the ses light comes on. Also you are able to retrieve codes from the ram jet motor where as you would have to take your car to a dealer to get codes from an ls1 because it is OBD II. Also there is no vats system on the ram jet. an ls1 computer would have to be sent away to delete the vats system.
they are both very good motors, but money, hp, and install difficulties. i would go with the ram jet
