5.0tbi to 5.0/5.7tpi
I'm new to this particular board but would like to introduce myself a bit before my question.
I owned a 1992 Camaro RS (25th anniv.) w/black interior. It had the 5.0tbi V8 with 700R4 tranny. I owned the car for just 2 months before selling it because it just wasn't what I wanted in terms of speed. I sold the car and bought a 1993 Chevy Beretta GTZ (rare; one of just 621 made that year).
Anyhoo - I've done a motor swap in my GTZ. I'm running a race-prepped Bilmar 2.3 Quad4 DOHC with 225hp.
I'm trying to make a comeback to the 3rd gen Camaro and am currently looking for a 1990-1992 RS/Z28 with a V8.
My question is this. Being that my 1992 RS came with only 170hp, I'd be immediately looking to boost the HP in the next Camaro I own... Based solely on price, it looks as though I'll be looking mainly for a 1990-1992 RS. If I get an RS, chances are that its going to have the 5.0tbi V8. Has anyone done a 5.0/5.7tpi swap in an RS? What is involved? Also, I understand that only 305 tpi's were mated to manuals... Has anyone put a 350tpi with a manual?
Thanks in advance for the info-

Hi Dante,
I would suggest that it is far cheaper to actually buy the '90-92 Camaro in it's TPI form. Swapping from one system to the other is expensive, and it is really expensive if you buy a V6 version and go to a 305 or 350. There are, if you still decide to buy a TBI 305 RS, many people on this board that have converted to TPI. I am in the middle of converting my '92 Formula from a 305 TBI to a 350 TPI, for instance. There are also quite a few people on this board that have put a manual to their 350 TPI.
Do a search for TPI conversion and you should find plenty of info on the swap.
If you still have more questions after doing the above search repost and I'll help as much as I can.
Good Luck.
