vortec motor and heads

Ok, first i need help finding a spring kit. I'm getting a vortec motor and heads. I know the vortec heads can't handle much lift, but i have seen a spring kit that will allow for a .550 lift without any machine work to the heads.i am having trouble finding that again. Does anyone know where i can find that again? And second, i plan on keeping the stock bore probably ringing it. But anyone have good ideas for a 400-450hp build? Good can, rockers intake etc.. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

I believe it's the beehive style springs, like the Comp 918 kit.

Re: vortec motor and heads

You'll need a good intake (Carb or EfI, and Probably at least a 280 XFI cam with 1.6 rockers.

Cool, I'm gearing up for the EXACT same build! Looking around heavily at the junkyards now. I'm a little unsure on cam also. I've already homed in on the Alex parts spring kit ( not only for clearance but I heard mention on a thread stock springs were very low seat pressure, 80lbs I think). I'm keeping the TPI induction and will buy the Scoggin Dickey adapter intake.
